Bishop Gainer Temporarily Suspends All Masses

Effective immediately and until further notice, Bishop Ronald W. Gainer, out of great concern for the health of the faithful and in union with the Bishops of Pennsylvania, has temporarily suspended all daily and weekend Masses in the Diocese of Harrisburg. Additionally, Bishop Gainer has suspended all public liturgies and devotions, and has asked that all churches and chapels be closed, including all perpetual adoration chapels.

Spiritual Communion and Sunday Prayer

Below are two resources to assist parishioners that can be said to keep the Lord’s Day holy. The first is regarding Spiritual Communion and the second is Sunday Prayer at Home

Welcome

In the Catholic Church the Mass is the center of the prayer life of the faith community through which the blessings and benefits of Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross continue to flow for God’s people. It is a commendable thing to call on God’s beneficence for the expiation of sins through His gift of mercy and the healing effects of His grace for loved ones living and deceased and for special intentions we may have.

Community Outreach

Parish Visitors

Parish Visitors are parish members who visit sick parishioners in their homes, nursing homes or care facilities, bringing prayer and communion to those who are unable to regularly participate in parish life. These volunteers also send greeting cards, provide transportation, respite as possible, and deliver gifts at Christmas and Easter.

If you or someone you know would like to be visited by a Parish Visitor, or you would like to know more about becoming one, contact the parish office.

Hospital Patients

Please contact the rectory at (717) 233-3062 to let us know that you are or will be in the hospital, or ask your family or neighbors to contact us. Father Chester Snyder, staff and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion want to visit and pray with and for you, especially while you are unable to join us for Mass. Please inform us so that your parish family may offer their spiritual support to you and your family.

Join us for Mass

The Parish of St. Margaret Mary also provides pastoral care to residents at the Jewish Home, Kindred Place, Manor of Oakridge, Colonial Park Care Center and with monthly celebration of Eucharist as well as regular visits to all residents. Please check the church bulletin for a list of dates and times for Masses at these locations and join us. The residents would love to see you.
