Prayer for St. Margaret Mary Parish Community

God our Father, you have promised through your Son to be with your Church forever. We give you thanks for those who founded this community of faith, and for the signs of your presence in our congregation today. Increase us in the spirit of wisdom and counsel, of courage and fortitude and help us follow your will in all our endeavors and plans. We depend totally upon your guidance. Knit us together as one community of love and make us worthy of our Catholic heritage and faith. As we go forward under Your direction, may the spiritual growth of our faith-community bear witness to Your loving presence among us. Grant this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

-Recitation of the Holy Rosary- The rosary is offered immediately following daily mass (8:30 am on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday) in the church. Additionally, our Knights of Columbus Council recite the rosary immediately following the 9:30 am mass on the 5th Sunday of the month, the next one occurring on December 30, 2018.

Below is a summary of the "Listening Session" that was held Sunday, November 18, 2018.

The purpose of this session was to provide parishioners with an opportunity to share their thoughts and concerns, their frustrations and their hopes, as together we continue to process all that has challenged our church, and in particular our parish, in recent months. There was no agenda for the meeting, and was not held to develop any plan of action. Rather, this was a time for our parish to come together as a family of faith in mutual faith and support, trusting the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the love we share for St. Margaret Mary Parish. If you have any questions about the listening session, please contact Father Snyder at the parish office—717-233-3062 or email frsnyder@stmmparish.org.

Parish First Friday Devotions to the Sacred Heart Beginning on December 7th

Parishioners are encouraged to join together in prayer for 9 consecutive First Fridays to pray for parish unity, healing for the faithful, and wisdom for Bishop Gainer in selecting a new pastor for St. Margaret Mary.  This prayer initiative, which began in October, includes praying the Litany of the Sacred Heart at the end of the First Friday 12:15 Mass, and also includes a First Friday Holy Hour in the Sacred Heart Adoration Chapel from 7 - 8 p.m.  There will be time for private and shared prayer in this way that brings honor to the Sacred Heart as encouraged by our patroness, Saint Margaret Mary.  The First Friday devotion usually includes reception of Holy Communion for nine consecutive First Fridays.  Even if you are not able to be with us in person, please join us in a spirit of prayer.

Prayer on the Anniversary of Roe verses Wade

Heavenly Father, the beauty and dignity of human life was the crowning of your creation. You further ennobled that life when your Son became one with us in his incarnation. Help us to realize the sacredness of human life and to respect it from the moment of conception until the last moment of death. Give us courage to speak with truth and love and with conviction in defense of life. Help us to extend the gently hand of mercy and forgiveness to those who do not reverence your gift of life. To all, grant pardon for the times we have failed to be grateful for your precious gift of life or to respect it in others. We ask this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

From the beginning...

This is a collection of pictures that show all the site preparation work for our very own field of dreams... did someone say "If you build it they will come..."?
